Roaring Twenties evening marking the Basie's 1926 opening, with live jazz, a silent film with organ accompaniment and a costume contest.
The Count Basie Center marks the centennial of its 1926 opening night with a 1920s-themed finale. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m.
The program includes hot jazz, period automobiles and fashion, a Prohibition-style speakeasy and prizes for the best retro costume. A restored screening of the silent comedy The Quarterback, the original opening-night feature, is accompanied live by organist Ben Model. A separate post-show gala is held next door at The Vogel.
