State park on the 1778 Battle of Monmouth site, with a visitor center, a gift shop and a large June living history reenactment.

Monmouth Battlefield State Park preserves the ground of the Battle of Monmouth, fought in 1778 during the Revolutionary War. The state park opened in 1978. The Friends of Monmouth Battlefield formed in 1990 because the park's landscapes were overgrown and its historic buildings were near collapse, and the group now runs programming and staffs the visitor center gift shop.
The Friends hold the annual battle reenactment in June, which they call the state's largest annual living history event. The 248th was held June 20-21, 2026, and the 250th is tentatively set for June 17-18, 2028. Other programs include the Second Sunday Lecture Series, Revolutionary Days activities and battlefield talks and tours.
The park is open year-round except for major holidays, with hours that change by season, and visitor center hours are not posted online, so call the park office at 732-462-9616. The visitor center is partially accessible. The park's GPS address is 16 Highway 33-BR, Manalapan.
