Huber Woods has grown to 390 acres of permanently preserved open space in the Locust section of Middletown. The county lists 8.5 miles of multi-use trails for walkers and equestrians, with short and long loops, some steep inclines and some gentle grades, through meadows and forest with views over the river.

The historic Huber House is part of the park, alongside an Environmental Center and a Reptile House. Nature programs include the Creatures of the Night wagon rides held each October. The Environmental Center can be reached at 732-872-2670.

The park opens at 7 a.m. daily, year-round, and closes at 5:30 p.m. from November 1 to January 18. Portions are open for deer hunting during the 2026/2027 season, with dates and boundaries on the county site. Parts of the park recently went through invasive plant management and habitat improvement. As elsewhere in the county system, the park is tobacco free.
