Borough of Oceanport

Oceanport

Oceanport is a borough on a peninsula in the Shrewsbury River. It was formed in 1920 from part of Eatontown Township and takes in Gooseneck Point, Port-au-Peck, Sands Point and part of the former Fort Monmouth.

Monmouth Park, the thoroughbred track on Oceanport Avenue, hosted the Breeders' Cup in 2007 and in 2018 became the first place in New Jersey to take a legal sports bet. NJ Transit runs a limited-service stop at Monmouth Park station, and Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth is rising on former fort land inside the borough.
