Thompson Park is a 667-acre county park at 805 Newman Springs Road in Lincroft, and it houses the Park System's headquarters. It was established in 1968 with a 215-acre donation from the estate of Geraldine Livingston Thompson and is part of Brookdale Farm, a former thoroughbred breeding and training operation. The 228-acre Brookdale Farm Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.

The park has about 14 miles of trails, including a 4.9-mile paved loop, plus Marlu Lake, a playground, an off-leash dog area, tennis courts with two lined for pickleball, the Theater Barn, and the Creative Arts Center and Gallery. The Visitor Center is open weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and weekends 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The park opens at 7 a.m. daily, year-round, with closing times that change by season. Some days in late 2026 are closed for deer hunting.
