Holmdel Park covers 719 acres and was acquired by the county in 1962. The park system counts nearly one million visitors a year. Trails total 9.49 miles by the county's trail listing, plus a fitness trail and a half-mile paved loop. The park also has an arboretum, fishing, picnic areas, four tennis courts, two playgrounds, ice skating and sledding.
Longstreet Farm is a living history farm where park staff recreate life as it was during the 1890s. Nearby, the Holmes-Hendrickson House at 62 Longstreet Road is open seasonally for tours. A forest restoration project on the Beech Glen Trail addresses beech leaf disease.
The park opens at 7 a.m. daily and closes at 7:30 p.m. through October 31. Portions of the Ramanessin Section are open for deer hunting during the 2026/2027 season, and cyclists and equestrians are asked to use the Ramanessin trails, staying on the roads in the northern portion. The county advises against leaving valuables in cars.
