Township of Holmdel

Holmdel

Holmdel Park, established in the early 1960s, holds the Holmdel Arboretum and Historic Longstreet Farm, which recreates farm life of the 1890s. The township is also home to the PNC Bank Arts Center, an outdoor amphitheatre that opened in 1968 beside the Garden State Parkway.

The Bell Labs Holmdel Complex, designed by Eero Saarinen, now operates as Bell Works. Karl Jansky did early radio astronomy in Holmdel in 1931, and the Horn Antenna is where Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson found evidence of cosmic microwave background radiation. The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial opened in 1995.
